Environmental Health Officer - Waipa District Council
Here at Waipā District Council we have a clear vision - to partner with the community in promoting the well-being of the Waipā District and its people. We are looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join our team.
As our new Environmental Health Officer your primary focus will be the health of our residents. This is a generalist and varied role including working as food safety (including verifying food businesses on template food control plan and national programmes), alcohol licensing, health licensing, contaminated land, dealing with nuisance complaints, and providing advice on application for resource/ building consents. This role is primarily based in Te Awamutu however you will also spend time supporting our neighbouring Council as part of our shared services agreements.
You will have the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines, with demonstrated skills in oral and written communication including report writing and presentations, whilst ensuring you have our customers at the forefront of all you do. This role will suit someone who is flexible and can work autonomously as well as being a team player. As per legislation, we require you to have (or be studying towards or willing to study) a recognised Environmental Health qualifications Regulations 1993.
