Environmental Health Officer, Christchurch City Council
Environmental Health Officer
Here at the Council we are always present in the community in many different forms. We are always diversifying and there are always new and interesting projects to get stuck into.
With that in mind we are now looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join our Environment Health team at the Council. This is an exciting opportunity that has a good balance of office and field work.
Our team at the Council helps manage and monitor various aspects of public health including noise control management, investigation and assessment of contaminated land, public health comment and input into building and resource consents, registration and inspection of offensive trades, hazardous substances duties to protect public safety and the inspection/monitoring/abatement of environmental health nuisances. A separate team handles Food Safety and Premises Licensing.
Maybe you possess demonstrated experience in managing a variety of environmental health issues as an Environmental Health Officer, or perhaps you hold a qualification that would allow you to work toward being an EHO - whatever your background, you will enjoy working collaboratively with others in our team to achieve our targets and to develop great relationships with our customers and partner agencies. You will be able to easily communicate law, guidelines and advice to our customers, the community, wider Council and your technical counterparts by adapting your communication styles to suit individual needs.
